Leanor Boulin Johnson Professor of African American Studies and Family Studies
LEANOR BOULIN JOHNSON is professor of African American studies and family studies. She received her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in sociology from Purdue University. Her past employment includes, Assistant Professor at Florida State University, Senior Researcher at The Urban Institute in Washington D.C., Associate Professor at Howard University, and Senior Researcher at WESTAT in Rockville, Maryland. She is founding director of African American Studies at Arizona State University and currently teaches courses on family relations with emphasis on ethnicity. Her main research activities have been in Black family studies, cross-cultural sexuality, and work-family stress. Professor Boulin Johnson's most recent senior authored publications include: Leanor Boulin Johnson and Robert Staples (2005). Black Families at the Crossroad: Challenges and prospects (2nd Ed.).
