Pegasus Press

Pegasus Paperbooks was created with aims and ideals analogous to those of the main MRTS series. Over time, the Pegasus paperback series grew out of the challenge to develop texts with special value for classroom teaching; to reclaim neglected areas such as paleography; to edit, produce, and distribute Anglo-Saxon manuscripts on microfiche in collaboration with MRTS; and to develop other tools for research and teaching. The Press also publishes several journals and is expanding its scope to include computer CD-ROM materials. Pegasus Press relocated to the University of North Carolina at Asheville in 1996, and then passed into private hands eight years later.

The Renaissance English Text Society

The Renaissance English Text Society is an association of scholars who wish to recover significant English writings of the period 1475-1640, especially those that have never been published or that have a special significance. Parallel to the Malone Society, which emphasizes dramatic texts, the Society emphasizes nondramatic prose or poetry.
