The China Initiatives and Special Projects Office (CISPO) is one of the tools designed to implement ASU President Michael M. Crow’s “ New American University” agenda. In this new model for American research universities, global engagement is one of the eight design imperatives. The CISPO was officially launched in November, 2004, under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Fink, Vice President for Research and Economic Affairs.
