W. P. Carey School of Business:
The W. P. Carey School of Business currently offers two executive MBA programs in China. In Shanghai, the economic and financial center of China, the W. P. Carey School offers its executive MBA to senior business professionals through a collaborative partnership with China's Ministry of Finance and the Shanghai National Accounting Institute (SNAI). The students in this program include senior government leadership of Shanghai and senior-level executives from many of the largest state-owned enterprises in China. The program in Beijing, created for Motorola China , the students enrolled in this program are Chinese Motorola employees who have been earmarked as having high-potential for senior management positions. The program is customized for developing Motorola China’s leadership and Chinese leaders for a global Motorola.
In addition to the executive MBA programs currently offered in China, the W. P. Carey School of Business is presenting symposia with the fundamental goal of bridging academic scholars, industry leaders, and global economic policy makers in the pursuit of new knowledge. In June 2005, the W. P. Carey School of Business will present two conferences: the Shanghai Executive Forum and the Beijing Symposium. The Shanghai Executive Forum will be presented in partnership with the Ministry of Finance. The Beijing Symposium will be presented in partnership with Peking University and The State Council of the Peoples Republic of China. Both will bring together influential thought leaders-from academia, industry and government, to discuss the impact and influence of global economics and hear from ASU professor Edward C. Prescott, the recipient of the 2004 Nobel Prize in economic sciences.
Launched in May 2004, The Economic Club of Shanghai offers an exclusive
forum for senior level executives to cultivate and expand business
opportunities. Through private engagements with highly influential
and powerful industry
leaders, the elite members gain opportunities to strengthen relationships,
create successful partnerships, and prosper among the global community.
This reflects the vision and aspiration of ASU and the W. P. Carey
School of Business to play a crucial role in enabling the State of
Arizona to
deepen its global reach, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.
