ASU in China

No post for a while. I've been really busy. The end of last week was dominated by studying and testing, but I survived!

Friday, I went to this thing at the University here called 'English Corner'. It was pretty ridiculous. I heard that people go there and speak English, so I wanted to check it out. There were about 200-300 people and those of us native speakers that went there were like superstars. It was a little overwhelming and kind of weird. They thought we were really cool for just being native speakers.

Saturday, we went to the Great Wall and to some tombs, but I'm not sure which ones. The Great Wall was really steep and long and was actually really hard to climb.

I did laundry here at the dorms and it was the most frustrating thing ever. There are six washers and one dryer, and it is so humid that the clothes do NOT air dry.

Sunday, I went to go get a custom suit made. It's really awesome, totally custom tailored, cashmere, and it will come out to about $200 US dollars. Then, I ran across the street to Tiananmen Square and just snapped a few pictures and talked a bunch of people. I got invited to have tea with this couple from Hunan province, but I had to go. It's okay, I live 10 minutes by taxi from Tiananmen, I'll be back.

Today, I just had class and I am so tired. I have to do a presentation tomorrow for my classes. I went to the post office and mailed out some postcards. I was surprised that I had no communication problems with them.
