In December 1998 Arizona State University mounted an extensive, broadly interdisciplinary conference entitled “1848/1898@1998: Transhistoric Thresholds.” The project offered a retrospective on the sesquicentennial of the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo with Mexico and the centennial of the 1898 Spanish-American War.

This conference CD-ROM contains abstracts of all conference presentations, a variety of scholarly papers (of historical, political, literary, and cultural interest), photographs of the conference events, and secondary documentation such as the text of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
