Arizona State University (ASU), acting
on behalf of the Arizona Board of Regents for the purpose of building and
maintaining the Arizona State System for Information on Student Transfer
(ASSIST), and the county community college district signing this
agreement, join together to develop a statewide student database to
facilitate better course transfer articulation, develop a better
understanding of the transfer process, assess the effectiveness of
transfer policies, and report the completion rates of transfer students to
state and federal governments and other interested parties.
I. ASU
agrees to protect the privacy rights of the student records provided by
the community college or university signing this agreement and to enforce
applicable state and federal legal requirements.
II. ASU
agrees to follow the provisions in the ASSIST Security Plan, as amended by
the Academic Program Articulation Steering Committee or its designee.
III. ASU
agrees to limit access to the student records provided by the community
college or university signing this agreement to ASU employees directly
involved in the ASSIST project. Other employees responsible for
administering the computing/network infrastructure may access the database
periodically in performing their duties. ASU assumes full responsibility
for the actions of its employees in connection with the ASSIST project.
IV. The
community college or university signing this Agreement agrees to follow
the provisions in the ASSIST Security Plan, as amended by the Academic
Program Articulation Steering Committee or its designee.
V. The
community college or university signing this Agreement agrees to provide
ASU accurate, student records within the timeframe and format requested by
ASU.
VI.
Either party may cancel this
Agreement upon notification in writing to the Academic Program
Articulation Steering Committee Chair.
