GPSA Travel Grant Competition
GPSA
offers Conference Travel Grants for students attending regional, national
and international professional conferences. Grants are awarded on a
competitive basis and are not guaranteed. Grants will be awarded monthly
for travel occurring from August 1, 2008 through May 31, 2009.
The GPSA Conference Travel
Grant program exists to support and promote the success of ASU graduate and
professional student research, increase ASU’s reputation as a
Research Extensive Institution, and to promote the ASU graduate and
professional student community at large. The funds awarded from this program
are used to support student travel to regional, national and international
conferences. This program runs
on a monthly cycle from July 15 – April 15, funding travel from
August 1 to May 31.
This program is open to graduate and professional students on ASU Tempe campus. Graduate/professional students
on any of the other ASU campuses should contact their respective student governments (ASASU-Polytechnic, ASASU-West, Downtown Council)
for potential programs on your campuses.
This program is administered by the GPSA Vice
President of Internal Affairs with support from the GPSA Director of
Conference Travel (Contact
Officer). Be certain to read this page carefully as the information has changed since previous years.- the application process has changed since last year!
Please note important Dates & Deadlines for
2008-2009:
- July 15th, 4 p.m. is the
deadline for the first funding cycle of 2008-2009 academic year
- Applications are due by 5
p.m. on the 15th of each month.
- Please note: GPSA now requires
applications to be accompanied by original Travel
Authorization (TA) forms for International or long-term domestic (more than 7 days) travel. All other travel MUST
have an accompanying ELECTRONIC Travel Authorization Form. Explanations are included on the Application
Information page.
- Receipts MUST be submitted
within five days of conference travel to insure proper reimbursement.
- Final Receipts will NOT be
accepted after June 5th for May travel. There are no exceptions to this
policy.
