Homecoming Dance, 9 p.m. - midnight,

Old Main Lawn. Party in front of ASU's oldest building, where many alumni met future spouses and shared dreams under the stars.

Oct. 28

(continues Oct. 29), Golden Reunion, 3:30 p.m.,

Registration at Old Main. A special gathering for the Class of 1955. Activities include class photo, a choice of three campus tours (registration for tours starts at 8:30 a.m.), the Golden Circle Reception and Induction, and a dinner. On Saturday, reunion attendees and their guests can enjoy the Homecoming Block Party and Parade and the ASU-Washington game. Reunion packages are $125 for class of '55 members, $75 for guests.

Lantern Walk, 8 p.m.,

"A" Mountain. One of homecoming's oldest traditions, this hike up "A" Mountain is marked by speeches and stories told at the top of Tempe's distinctive butte and a fireworks display.

Oct. 29

Homecoming Parade, 11:30 a.m.,

University Drive from McAllister to Mill avenues. The school first held a parade to celebrate homecoming in 1917, and it just keeps getting better! Throngs of students, alumni, and local civic organizations will participate in the spectacle.

Oct. 29

Homecoming Block Party, 11a.m. - 3 p.m.,

Old Main Lawn and along University Drive. No one celebrates like the Sun Devil Family! Feast your eyes as well as your tummy, and reconnect with other alums. Many university departments will have tents or booths at the party, with plenty to see and do.

Oct. 23-29

Battle of the Bands, 10 a.m. - 1p.m.,

daily at Memorial Union (Oct. 23-28) and at Palo Verde Beach on Oct. 29. Come see Sun Devil musical talent in action. The Battle of the Bands pits local ensembles with at least one ASU student in them against each other. The top five bands will play at the Homecoming Block Party on Oct. 29.

Oct. 24

Sparky's Kickoff Concert, 8 p.m.,

ASU Arboretum. Rock out with the sounds of a nationally known band.

Oct. 28

Reintroduction of Carillion Bells, 3:30-5 p.m.,

Starlight Terrace, Maricopa Café, Memorial Union. After years of silence, the bells will once again be ringing all over campus. Join us for a dedication of the new carillion.

Oct. 29

Herberger College Art Walk, 10 a.m. - 4p.m.,

at the Tempe campus. The Art Walk will present juried artwork by alumni artists.

Fun:

Oct. 28

Homecoming Gala, 6:30 p.m. - midnight,

Arizona Historical Society Museum, 1300 N. College Avenue, Tempe. Break out the tuxedo or gown and join alumni and community members at this black-tie fund-raising event. Includes a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Alumni Association. Tickets $150/person or $1,500 for a table of ten. Black-tie optional.

Alumni Night in Tempe, 9 p.m. - 2 a.m.,

Mill Avenue restaurants. Who knew school pride could be so delicious? Alumni who register for other Homecoming events will receive drink specials and discounted appetizers and desserts at many Mill Avenue eateries.

Oct. 27

Career Connections, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.,

Old Main. Alumni and students come together in a mentoring atmosphere. See what some of your old classmates are doing and hear what it's like to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer or any one of dozens of other professions.

Oct. 28

Classes Without Quizzes, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.,

classrooms in and around Old Main. Join students and other alumni for short discussion-based classes, led by top faculty. Speakers will give an hour-long look into their latest work.

Oct. 28

Look At What's Changed Tours, 2:30 - 4 p.m.,

tours leave from Old Main. Alumni will be able to take a 1 to 2 hour tour of the newest facilities at ASU, as well as visit old favorites, such as the Memorial Union, Gammage Auditorium, Old Main, etc.
