Reports from Sun Devils everywhere
Leadership
Scholarship Program
The LSP Alumni
Chapter is young, but strong. Our purpose is to serve as mentors
for the current LSP students, create positive events for our members
to attend, and raise funds for the Dr. Christine K. Wilkinson Leadership
Award.
Join us for the monthly LSP Meeting sponsored by the LSP Alumni Chapter
at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the Memorial Union. It’s a relaxed
way to meet the current students, provide insight into your career
or profession, and offer your mentoring guidance to the students.
We’re also planning events in conjunction with this year’s
Homecoming celebration on the Tempe campus October 28-30. Join us for
the annual LSP Reunion at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, at the Tempe Mission
Palms Hotel’s Abbey Room. (See above for a few photos from previous
reunion parties.) And don’t forget to look for our booth at the
Homecoming Block Party on Saturday, Oct. 29 before the game.
If you would like to get involved with the LSP chapter, contact Jonell
L. Lucca at (480) 699-0377 or jonelllucca@yahoo.com. The chapter Web
site is http://lspalums.blogspot.com.

and on March 4, we’ll hold our first-ever mini-conference. Both
events will be held in Carson Ballroom at Old Main; please mark your
calendars now!

American Humanics
Candice Moore was elected to the ASU Alumni Association board of directors
as a representative for all college-based chapters. Congratulations,
Candice!
This fall we are busy with a number of projects and events, focused
on supporting humanics students and providing meaningful volunteer
opportunities for our alumni. We provided speakers, mock solicitation
and logistical support for the Fall Retreat, participated in Sun Devil
101, the fall internship fair, and the ongoing speaker series.
Look for information on our mixers and our Homecoming participation
on our Web site and don’t forget about the Center for Nonprofit
Leadership and Management’s 13th Annual Nonprofit Conference
on board governance, slated for November 3 and 4. Details are at http://www.asu.edu/copp/

New England
Our chapter continues
to keep Sun Devil spirit alive in the Northeast. This past June,
the chapter participated in the first annual Pac-10 Alumni Golf Outing
at Brookline Golf Club. Highlights of the event included the stellar
play of John Kozlowski, who carried the team to a very respectable
second-place finish, and the shot of the day by Jennifer Bostick,
who took home the coveted “Closest to the Pin” prize
with a clever shot off the cart path.
Pac-10 rivalries were renewed again in July with the annual beach volleyball
tournament on Carson Beach in South Boston. Thanks to all who attended and
competed.
The arrival of fall brings more fantastic chapter events, including the Pac-10
Alumni Pub Crawl on Saturday, Sept. 24, and the next installment of the rotating
Pac-10 Alumni Happy Hour on Tuesday, October 18, at Silvertone Bar & Grill
in Boston.
Of course, autumn in New England also means ASU football, and as always the
chapter will be hosting game-watching parties throughout the season. For information
