Association's partnership with Jobing.com promises alum rewards
It would be nice if
getting a job were as easy as pressing a button, wouldn’t it? Career searches may
not be that effortless—yet—but a new partnership
between the Alumni Association and Jobing.com, may make access
to “fresh, real, and local” job openings as simple
as visiting the Association’s web site.
Under
the partnership agreement, Jobing.com has developed a co-branded
career web site with the Alumni Association. The site is available
by clicking on the “Sun Devil Career Network” link
located on the Association home page at www.asu.edu/alumni.
ASU alumni and other job seekers are able to search and apply
for their next Arizona job across more than 40 comprehensive
job categories, as well as post resumes and cover letters to
the site for access by employers. Users can also register to
receive jobs delivered via email that match their specific search
criteria. Additionally, Jobing.com will work with the Alumni
Association to deliver career seminars and other events targeted
at alumni, and complement efforts of on-campus entities such
as ASU Career Services.
Local employers and recruiters are able to post jobs directly to
the site for fees that starts at $150 for a 28-day listing. Depending
on employer preference, these postings are available for access across
either the ASU Alumni Network or the entire Jobing.com local network.
The partnership has special meaning for Jobing.com founder
and chief executive officer, Aaron Matos, a 1995 ASU
graduate. Matos
began the company as an offshoot of a publishing company where
he was employed as a human resources director, with the company
becoming independent in 2001.
“As an ASU alum, it is very satisfying to announce this partnership
with the Alumni Association,” said Matos. “Since
our inception, Jobing.com has been singularly-focused on
helping connect local employers with top local job candidates.
This
partnership further enhances that commitment and the value
we bring to the
entire Valley community.”
Christine Wilkinson, president of the Alumni Association,
noted that the agreement with Matos’ company was itself
representative of the ways in which Sun Devils can help each
other in the
employment arena.
“We’re pleased to be working with one of our own graduates
to offer a robust, locally-focused job board and menu of career
tools for our alumni,” she said. “Linking ASU-supportive
employers with our talented graduates is just one more way
to facilitate Sun Devils hiring Sun Devils.”
