Help Make a Difference at San Diego ASU Cares – March 21st, 9am-Noon
CARE for the Coast. Volunteer for this half-day service project at Moonlight Beach in Encinitas and join hundreds of alumni on ASU Cares Day throughout the country.
In conjunction with the ASU Cares program, San Diego’s ASU alumni are participating in a beach clean-up of their own through the local I Love A Clean San Diego Adopt -A- Beach program. Gloves, trash bags, grabbers and other supplies will be provided
Where – Moonlight Beach in Encinitas (park in lot on C and Third Street)
When – Saturday, March 21, 2009
9:00 a.m. – Registration and orientation
12:00 p.m. – Program concludes. Enjoy a FREE lunch and volunteer recognition.

Plenty of free parking is available. Look for the ASU tent in the picnic area. Children are welcome to join with parent supervision. Dress appropriately for the weather. Close-toed shoes, a hat and sunscreen are recommended.
San Diego Alumni Tent at the Crew Classic – April 4th – 9a.m.-3 p.m.
Enjoy a great day on Mission Bay and cheer on the ASU men’s and women’s crew teams at this years Crew Classic at Crown Point Shores on Saturday, April 4. Suggested $5 donation for lunch and to help support the ASU Crew Programs. Watch the best teams from across the nation compete and gather with the ASU team, alumni and parents. Pat’s Run Comes to San Diego – Fun Run for PT Foundation – April 18 at 7:00 a.m.
Wave House - Mission Beach
On April 18th, thousands of runners, walkers, volunteers and spectators will participate in the 5th Annual Pat’s Run Tempe. This 4.2 mile run/walk celebrates the life of former ASU football star and Army Ranger, Pat Tillman. Pat’s friends and family created Pat's Run as a way to celebrate Pat's legacy while raising awareness and funds for the Pat Tillman Foundation. All proceeds from the race benefit the Pat Tillman Foundation and its Leadership through Action™ initiatives.
Join ASU Alumni and friends right here in San Diego at a Pat’s Run Shadow Run sponsored by the local San Diego Alumni Chapter. We will run the same length of 4.2 miles at the same time as the run in Tempe. To join the San Diego chapter, just go to this link http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1649559 to register as part of our shadow run team. Pay your registration fee on-line and choose the San Diego Shadow Run from the drop down list. We will meet on April 18th at 7:00 a.m. to run 4.2 miles together to celebrate Pat's life and inspire our own. Start/Finish, t-shirt distribution and discounted post ride breakfast at the Wave House (at the roller coaster) in Mission Beach. Plenty of free parking. See you there!

Attention San Diego Golfers! The San Diego alumni chapter is currently in the process of putting together its very own social, co-ed golf group. We are looking for golfers of all skill levels and all ages to get together for monthly outings at golf courses throughout San Diego.
