Many people have contacted me in the last few weeks asking how they can become more involved in the Old Pueblo Chapter. We have several committees that need members. Below I have listed each committee, a general description of the event, the chairperson, and the general time-frame for the event planning. Also, I have included any special needs that the event has that the Chapter still is looking to fulfill. Please email me to volunteer.
December - Winterhaven/holiday party: The chapter will do a walk-through of the Winterhaven neighborhood to enjoy the holiday lights and get into the winter spirit. Event is in December. Date is TBA as the dates for walk-through nights at Winterhaven have not been set yet. Chairperson is Tish O'Callaghan.
We are looking for an alum who has a house (or clubhouse) near or in Winterhaven where we can host a pre-event party. The chapter will provide all the food and beverages, we just need the event space. Alternatively, we are looking for a restaurant/bar in the Winterhaven area that has a private room that we can use if anyone has a suggestion.
March - Charity picnic: The chapter will meet at a local park at a family-friendly event to collect personal hygiene items for a local charity and have fun in the Spring weather. Event date is in March. Chairperson is Nancy Doran.
Spring – Scholarship: The Chapter awards a scholarship to a local high school senior heading to ASU for college. Help us choose the recipient from a batch of talented local students. Paper applications are reviewed in April and interviews are conducted in May. Chairperson is TBD.
