Sparky's Touchdown Tailgate at Stanford - September 29, 2007

Many thanks to all the NorCal Sun Devils and ASU fans visiting from all over who attended Sparky's Touchdown Tailgate on September 29. Over 400 ASU fans rocked to the sounds of 90's cover band Sex Type Thing, enjoyed scrumtious BBQ and warmed up for the eventual blowout of Stanford. The tailgate has the largest attendance of any in Northern California in recent memory and thanks to the members of ASUAA and NorCal chapter who volunteered their time to help.

New Official S.F. Location For Sun Devil Football - Woody Zips!
For many years the NorCal Chapter has been without a permanent home to comfortably watch ASU games in San Francisco. After a number of failed attempts to establish permanent real estate at the City's most popular sports bars we are pleased to announce Woody Zips as the new permanent location for all Sun Devil games this coming Fall and into the future.

Woody Zips is a new sports bar in the heart of San Francisco's North Beach. Woody's owner is excited to have us all there on a weekly basis. The days of fighting for chairs or having to stand up and watch one corner TV are over! Woody's is blanketed with flat screen TVs. HALF of which will be dedicated for the ASU game and as a special bonus the SOUND will be turned on for our games!! We'll actually be able to HEAR what is happening on the field. The bar will not only be our official spot but will be decorated with ASU memorabilia to give it some real Sun Devil spirit.


South Bay Football Viewing Parties Continue At Double D's In Los Gatos
The NorCal Chapter will continue to host parties for all the televised ASU games at Double D's in Los Gatos. The address is 354 N. Santa Cruz Ave. in Los Gatos (corner of N. Santa Cruz and Los Gatos Saratoga Road (Hwy 9). www.doubleds.com. Double D's will have the ASU games on one of their big screens each week (assuming the game is televised).

“Cork’Em Devils! Over 40 NorCal chapter members enjoyed a beautiful Saturday in the Napa Valley. Hosted by ASU grad Judd Finkelstein’s winery Judd’s Hill, with visits also to Mumm Napa and Hagafen, chapter members were chauffeured to the Silverado Trail via chartered bus for a day full of activities. The group spent the morning learning about wine-making from Judd that included tasting many of his signature wines and a superb BBQ lunch overlooking his vineyard. The day progressed with a private tour at Mumm Napa and then a wonderful tasting experience at Hagafen winery. The NorCal chapter strongly recommends visiting these establishments if in the Napa area.
