The board of directors
is the university's oldest support group. It exists to serve
ASU and to keep alumni and friends of ASU involved with the university.
The board of directors is the governing volunteer body of the
Alumni Association, officially recognizing all alumni support
organizations.

William D. Kavan '92
William graduated from ASU in 1992 with
a B.A. in political science. He is the president of Archon Ventures and Advancement Product Specialist, SunGard Higher Education.
His service to the association includes serving as chair of the Founders' Day committee. In addition to his affiliation with the Alumni Association board, William is
also a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Alumni Board, the Orpheus Chorus Board,
and the Citrus Mountain Estates Board. He makes his home in Phoenix, AZ.

Christopher Spinella '83
Spinella is CEO of Apriva, a company specializing in wireless applications and smart card technologies. An entrepreneur at heart, he also co-founded NetSearch, LLC, a wireless application company and was the chairman and co-founder of Zanova, Inc.
He has been actively involved with the ASU Alumni Association, serving as founding member and past president of the Leadership Scholarship Chapter. While on the Association board, Chris has served on the audit committee, the finance committee, and the scholarship committee. He is a life member of the Alumni Association. He makes his home in Paradise Valley, AZ.

Gilbert graduated from ASU in 1967 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.
He is the president of Colonia Bank.

Dr. Hesse earned a B.S. degree
(1977) and a M.B.A. (1984) from ASU. She is the Vice Provost for Community College Partnerships at ASU.
She is a resident of Gilbert and is involved in a number of community activities,
most of which are related to economic and workforce development.

Christine K. Wilkinson '66, '76 Ph.D.
Christine
is the president of the ASU Alumni Association, as well as senior
vice president and secretary of the university. She also teaches
regularly and chairs doctoral committees as a tenured faculty member
in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
She currently serves on the Southwest Autism Resource and Research
Center Board and the Arizona
Hospital and Healthcare Association Board. She lives
in Tempe, AZ. |

Robert Boschee '83, '85 M.B.A.
Bob is currently a wealth management advisor with Merrill Lynch and a principal partner of the Ashley & Boschee Group, a division of Merrill Lynch that serves a select clientele. Bob has served on the board’s Finance Committee and also as a representative for the Alumni Association on the ASU Foundation Investment Committee. He enjoys biking, golf and raising two future Sun Devils.

Kathleene graduated from ASU in 1972 with a degree in political science. She
works as a senior assistant counsel for the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Agency. She now resides in San Francisco, CA.

Tara McCollum Plese '78, '84 M.P.A.
Tara McCollum Plese holds two degrees from ASU: a B.A. in Political Science (1978)
and a M.P.A. degree, which she earned in 1984. She is the director of government
and media relations for the Arizona Association of Community Health Centers, Director of Government and Media Relations.
In addition to her service to the Alumni Association, Tara has also been appointed
to the AZ State Medical Advisory Board,
and is a board member of Maricopa County Health Care for the Homeless. She makes
her home in Tempe, AZ. |

Martin Quintana '87, 04 M.B.A.
Since 1998, Martin Quintana has been the executive vice president of corporate
services and chief financial officer for Chicanos Por La Causa, a Hispanic advocacy
organization.
Quintana has also worked for Alliant/Kraft Foodservice as an accountant and accounting
manager.
Martin also serves on the boards of the W.P. Carey Executive MBA Alumni Program; NPower Arizona; Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Protecting Arizona Families Coalition and Parenting Arizona. He makes his home in Chandler, AZ. |

Christine Devine '87
Christine Devine works as a news anchor on Fox News 11 in Los Angeles. She has won eight Emmys and a number of other awards for her work as a broadcaster and is an inductee into the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication’s Alumni Hall of Fame. Devine frequently serves as emcee for various ASU-related events and organizations and acts as a spokeswoman for the university’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions. Devine is a life member of the Alumni Association.

Dr. Duplissis holds two degrees from ASU: an undergraduate degree in education (’92
B.A.) and a M.Ed. degree, earned in 1997.
Mark is the executive director of High School Relations for the Office of University Student Initiatives at ASU. He is a College of Education Alumni
Board member and participates in the College

Dick is director of corporate public affairs at Southwest Gas Corporation. He is chairman of the board for the Arizona Tax Research Association and an executive committee and board member for the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. He also serves as a commissioner on the Arizona Motion Picture Advisory Board.

Curtis is General Counsel of Upstream Americas with Shell Energy Resources Company. His background in education and law complements his expertise as a leader in the business world. His wife, Pam, is also an ASU alum and practices law in the Houston area.

Dr. John Sparks '57
An equine veterinarian, John has a specialized, nationwide practice caring for show horses. John was a founding member of the national agricultural fraternity Alpha Gamma Rho and earned his bachelor’s degree from ASU in engineering. He has faithfully supported ASU as an alumnus, including participating in the 2008 Founders’ Day celebration as an Anniversary Sponsor. He was preceded at Arizona State by his grandmother and is a proud member of a four-generation ASU family, as his son and grandson are also alumni. |
