The board of directors
is the university's oldest support group. It exists to serve
ASU and to keep alumni and friends of ASU involved with the university.
The board of directors is the governing volunteer body of the
Alumni Association, officially recognizing all alumni support
organizations.

Michael A. Pressendo '90
Michael is returning to the Alumni Association board after several years away.
He has served the board in numerous capacities over the years, including as membership
and marketing committee chair, chapter representative to the board, and as member
of the strategic planning and executive committees. He has also served as the
president of the Phoenix alumni chapter and a co-chair for the Founders’ Day
celebration. Michael is director of brand communications for the Make-A-Wish
Foundation of America. He makes his home in
Phoenix, AZ. |

Maria L. Hesse '77, '84 M.B.A. Maria earned a B.S. degree
(1977) and a M.B.A. (1984) from ASU. She is the president of
Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
She is a resident of Gilbert and is involved in a number of community activities,
most of which are related to economic and workforce development.

William D. Kavan '92 William graduated from ASU in 1992 with
a B.A. in political science. He is the senior vice president
of Tower Financial Holdings.
His service to the association includes serving as chair of the Founders' Day committee. In addition to his affiliation with the Alumni Association board, William is
also a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Alumni Board, the Orpheus Chorus Board,
and the Citrus Mountain Estates Board. He makes his home in Phoenix, AZ.

M.B.A.
Ken holds three degrees
from ASU: an undergraduate degree in political science (’74
B.A.), a law degree (’78 J.D.), and a M.B.A. degree (1988).
He serves as general counsel for the Arizona Legislative Council
and makes his home in Tempe, AZ.

President Christine K. Wilkinson '66, '76 Ph.D.
Christine
is the president of the ASU Alumni Association, as well as senior
vice president and secretary of the university. She also teaches
regularly and chairs doctoral committees as a tenured faculty member
in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
She currently serves on the Southwest Autism Resource and Research
Center Board, the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation Board, the Arizona
Hospital and Healthcare Association Board, St Lukes Health Initiatives
Board, Council of Former Governors-American Red Cross. She lives
in Tempe, AZ. |

Mark holds two degrees from ASU: an undergraduate degree in education (’92

Mark works as an assistant principal
for Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe. He is a College of Education Alumni
Board member and participates in the College

degree (’90 J.D.). He is an Assistant United States Attorney out of the
United States Attorney’s office in Phoenix.

Tara McCollum Plese '78, '84 M.P.A.
Tara McCollum Plese holds two degrees from ASU: a B.A. in Political Science (1978)
and a M.P.A. degree, which she earned in 1984. She is the director of government
and media relations for the Arizona Association of Community Health Centers.
In addition to her service to the Alumni Association, Tara also has been appointed
to the Governor’s Commission on Health State of Women and Families in Arizona,
and is a board member of Maricopa County Health Care for the Homeless. She makes

Since 1998, Martin Quintana has been the executive vice president of corporate
services and chief financial officer for Chicanos Por La Causa, a Hispanic advocacy
organization.

manager.
