The board of directors is the university's oldest support group. It exists to serve ASU and to keep alumni and friends of ASU involved with the university. The board of directors is the governing volunteer body of the Alumni Association, officially recognizing all alumni support organizations.

Mike Pressendo image  
Chairman
Michael A. Pressendo '90
Michael is returning to the Alumni Association board after several years away. He has served the board in numerous capacities over the years, including as membership and marketing committee chair, chapter representative to the board, and as member of the strategic planning and executive committees. He has also served as the president of the Phoenix alumni chapter and a co-chair for the Founders’ Day celebration. Michael is director of brand communications for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America. He makes his home in Phoenix, AZ.
Maria Hesse image

Maria L. Hesse '77, '84 M.B.A.
Maria earned a B.S. degree (1977) and a M.B.A. (1984) from ASU. She is the president of Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

She is a resident of Gilbert and is involved in a number of community activities, most of which are related to economic and workforce development.

William D. Kavan '92
William graduated from ASU in 1992 with a B.A. in political science. He is the senior vice president of Tower Financial Holdings.

His service to the association includes serving as chair of the Founders' Day committee. In addition to his affiliation with the Alumni Association board, William is also a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon Alumni Board, the Orpheus Chorus Board, and the Citrus Mountain Estates Board. He makes his home in Phoenix, AZ.

Community Involvement: DKE Alumni Board member; Treasurer Citrus Mountain Estates; Strategic Planning Chair DKE International; Founding Board Member.



Ken Behringer image

Ken Behringer '74, '78 J.D., '88 M.B.A.
Ken holds three degrees from ASU: an undergraduate degree in political science (’74 B.A.), a law degree (’78 J.D.), and a M.B.A. degree (1988). He serves as general counsel for the Arizona Legislative Council and makes his home in Tempe, AZ.

Additional Information: Treasurer, Capitol Idea, nonprofit organization supporting schools in the area of the Arizona Capitol.
     
Christine Wilkinson image  
President
Christine K. Wilkinson '66, '76 Ph.D.
Christine is the president of the ASU Alumni Association, as well as senior vice president and secretary of the university. She also teaches regularly and chairs doctoral committees as a tenured faculty member in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.

She currently serves on the Southwest Autism Resource and Research Center Board, the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation Board, the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association Board, St Lukes Health Initiatives Board, Council of Former Governors-American Red Cross. Kristi graduated from ASU in 1991 with a B.S. in Sociology. She makes her home in Scottsdale, AZ.

Barbara works for Motorola as the Arizona community relations and education manager. She lives in Chandler, AZ.
     
Eddie DeVall image  
Eddie DeVall '93
Eddie earned his B.S. in Communications from ASU in 1993. In addition to serving on the Alumni Board, Eddie is president of the Los Angeles chapter of the Association. He makes his home in Los Angeles, Calif.
 
Mark Duplissis image  
Dr. Mark Duplissis '92, '97 M.Ed., '06 Ed.D.
Mark holds two degrees from ASU: an undergraduate degree in education (’92 B.A.) and a M.Ed. degree, earned in 1997.

Mark works as an assistant principal for Corona Del Sol High School in Tempe. He is a College of Education Alumni Board member and participates in the College of Education Dean’s Council. He makes his home in Chandler, AZ.

Andy is the annual fund officer at San Diego State University. He is also the president of ASU's San Diego alumni chapter.

Gilbert Jimenez '67
Gilbert graduated from ASU in 1967 with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. He is the director of the Arizona Department of Commerce.

Gilbert makes his home in Scottsdale and also volunteers as a board member for Chicanos Por La Causa and the Arizona Mexico Commission.

Mark graduated from ASU in 1981 with a degree in business administration. He is a partner/vice president of The Killian Company/Sunny Mesa, Inc. He makes his home in Mesa, AZ.

 

 

Joe Koehler image  
Joseph E. Koehler '87, '90 J.D.
Joseph holds two degrees from ASU: a B.S. in General Business (1987) and a law degree (’90 J.D.). He is an Assistant United States Attorney out of the United States Attorney’s office in Phoenix.

In his work with the Alumni Association board, he has served as chair of the Founders’ Day committee and currently serves on the Finance Committee.

Chris graduated from ASU in 1987 with a B.S. in Broadcasting and also earned an M.P.A. degree in 1992. She is the associate director of extended campus programs at ASU.

Jonell earned her B.S. in Political Science from ASU in 1995. She is an Assistant U.S. Attorney. She makes her home in Chandler, AZ.

Phillip Moore '66, '67 M.S.E.
Phillip holds two engineering degrees from ASU: a B.S.E., earned in 1966, and a M.S.E., earned in 1967. He is a principal engineer at General Dynamics in Scottsdale. Phillip makes his home in Phoenix, AZ.

Vada is director of global issues management for Nike. He is a member of the Civilian Public Affairs Advisory Council at the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), the Issues Management Council Board of Directors, and Sigma Pi Phi (Boule), Gamma Mu chapter. He makes his home in Phoenix, AZ.

R. Kathleene "Kathy" Paul '72
Kathleene graduated from ASU in 1972 with a degree in political science. She works as an attorney, serving as deputy county counsel for Monterey County, Calif. She makes her home in Pebble Beach, Calif.

Community Involvement:
Junior League of Monterey County, Sustainer; Zonta Club of Monterey (District 9 Centurion).

Tara McCollum Plese '78, '84 M.P.A.
Tara McCollum Plese holds two degrees from ASU: a B.A. in Political Science (1978) and a M.P.A. degree, which she earned in 1984. She is the director of government and media relations for the Arizona Association of Community Health Centers.

In addition to her service to the Alumni Association, Tara also has been appointed to the Governor’s Commission on Health State of Women and Families in Arizona, and is a board member of Maricopa County Health Care for the Homeless. She makes her home in Mesa, AZ.

Martin Quintana '87, 04 M.B.A.
Since 1998, Martin Quintana has been the executive vice president of corporate services and chief financial officer for Chicanos Por La Causa, a Hispanic advocacy organization.

Quintana has also worked for Alliant/Kraft Foodservice as an accountant and accounting manager.

Quintana also serves on the boards of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and NPower Arizona. He makes his home in Chandler, AZ.
