Temporary Faculty Associate

Description:

8-week appointment; $6,500 without benefits; renewable based on performance and enrollment.

ASU/AECP seeks individuals to teach English as a second language in areas of listening/speaking & reading/writing, elective courses including TOEFL preparation, grammar, pronunciation, conversational English, and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The positions are short-term, eight-week appointments. Must become familiar with and follow the American English and Culture Program policies/procedures, submit an activity report, & keep office hours.

Required:

Candidates are required to have a Master’s degree in teaching ESL/EFL, or a Master’s degree in a closely related field (specifically, English, Linguistics, or a Foreign Language) with 2 yrs. ESL/EFL teaching experience to adults, evidence of native or near-native fluency in English.

Desired:

AECP desires candidates with teaching experience in an intensive English program for adults, overseas teaching experience, evidence of fluency in a second language, experience in ESP and special ESL programs, professional involvement in related areas & computer skills.
