The
First Week You should have at least $3,000USD for expenses during your first week
in Tempe. This money should be in travelers' checks or in the form of a credit card. (Tutiion and fees are only payable using MasterCard, Discover Card, American Express, cash, traveler's checks, personal checks drawn from a U.S. bank, or E-checks..)
Opening
a Bank Account in Tempe If you plan
to stay in Tempe for 16 weeks or longer, you will probably want to open
a bank account. It is much safer to keep your money in a bank than to
hide it in your room or apartment! There are five banks near the ASU
campus.
There are also many ATMs (automatic teller machines). For these machines,
you can use a special card to get cash if you have a bank account here.
