ELIGIBILITY You must be at least 18 years old (or 17 and a high school graduate).
During the summer session, high school students who are at least 15 years old may study at AECP if they are on vacation from their regular school.
AECP reserves the right to request transcripts and other documentation
if you have previously attended other language schools in the United States.
VISAS If
your primary purpose for entering the United States is to study, you must obtain
an F-1 student visa. To get an
F-1 visa, you need to apply
to the AECP and submit the required documents (see Application Procedure below).
AECP will send you a Certificate of Eligibility (an I-20 form). Then pay the non-refundable SEVIS fee before your visa interview. Visit http://www.FMJfee.com to fill out Form I-901 and pay the $200 visa application fee. Take the
I-20 form and your financial documents to the nearest U.S. embassy
or consulate when you apply for a student visa. You should contact the
embassy for exact requirements. If you are already in the United States
on a student visa, a transfer of schools may be arranged through the AECP Admissions Office.
NON-F-1 APPLICANTS Some non-F-1 visa categories (F-2, J-2, H-4, etc.) may allow you to study in the U.S. Check with AECP to find out the study restrictions for your visa category.
Please note that if you enter the U.S. using a tourist visa, visa waiver, or border crossing card, you will not be able to study full-time at AECP. If you begin studying at all in the U.S. while in one of these categories, a change to F-1 student status will not be possible unless you first leave the country, apply for and receive an F-1 student visa, and then re-enter the U.S. using the F-1 visa.

HEALTH
INSURANCE If you are studying at the AECP with an F-1 or J-1 visa, you must purchase
health insurance through ASU at the time of registration. ASU does not
accept any foreign health insurance policies.
MEASLES,
MUMPS, AND RUBELLA IMMUNIZATION All AECP students born after Dec. 31, 1956, must provide proof of Measles
(sarampion, hashika, variolique, masern, rosalee), Mumps and Rubella immunizations
in English before registering for class (this usually appears as MMR on
your health records). One vaccination of MMR (given after Dec. 1, 1979)
is required. A second MMR vaccination will be required later if you continue
at ASU in a degree program.
AECP
recommends that you be immunized in your country. Please bring English-language documentation
from your doctor or health center, listing the immunizations and the dates
you received them. Bring this documentation with you to AECP when you
come to register. If you have not been immunized or if you do not have
proof of immunization, you can get the vaccination at the ASU Student
Health Center during registration week (currently, the cost is approximately $65). Immunizations are
not covered by insurance.
