USI 701–01: Disability Resource Center—General Policy

Purpose

To facilitate reasonable and appropriate accommodations and services for qualified ASU students with disabilities

Policy

[horizontal rule]

Qualified students with disabilities may be eligible to receive academic support services and accommodations. Eligibility is based on qualifying disability documentation and assessment of individual need.

Accommodations may include, but are not limited to:

  1. priority enrollment appointments (see USI 701–03)
  2. sign language/oral interpreters and CART services (see USI 701–08)
  3. in-class notetakers (see USI 701–09)
  4. in-class academic testing accommodations (see USI 701–05)
  5. alternative print services (see USI 701–07)
  6. laboratory assistants (see USI 701–12) and
  7. variance from degree requirements (see USI 701–13).

Services may include, but are not limited to:

  1. academic and career consultation
  2. campus referrals
  3. community referrals
  4. enrollment information and academic advisement referrals
  5. TTY pay phones and
  6. adaptive technology.
Note: Students should review individual policies and procedures for accommodations to ensure they complete all necessary steps.
