University policy

Limited psychiatric services are available for enrolled ASU students with the primary goal of supporting students’ academic efforts and the services provided by ASU counseling centers. Services may include (1) consultation for ASU students with psychiatric needs, and (2) appointments with a psychiatrist (i.e., assessment, psychopharmacologic stabilization, medication management, and referral). These services are available on a limited basis dependent on agency resources. General health care and counseling services are available to faculty, staff, and students at the ASU Health Center on the Downtown Phoenix campus.
Hospitalization
A referral to psychiatric services is not a required step in hospitalizing students.
See the counseling centers’ Web pages for detailed information on services provided at Counseling and Consultation at the Tempe campus, the Student Counseling Services at the West campus, and Student Counseling Services at the Polytechnic campus. For information about counseling and other health services at the Downtown Phoenix campus, see the ASU Health Center Web site.
