Policy
[horizontal rule]

Under certain circumstances, students offered specific Arizona State University (ASU) resident institutional scholarships as incoming freshmen but who attend the University of Arizona (UA) or Northern Arizona University (NAU) immediately after high school may retain part of the award upon transfer to ASU. Regardless of the number of scholarships or amounts originally offered, one award in the amount of resident tuition only will be allowed. This award will renew at the first-year rate in following years, provided the student meets renewal criteria. This policy applies only to students who attended UA or NAU immediately after high school and are currently enrolled in their first or second semester at one of these universities. Students transferring after the first semester will have seven semesters of remaining scholarship eligibility for the tuition scholarship. Students transferring after the second semester will have six semesters of remaining scholarship eligibility.

This policy applies to the following resident institutional recruitment scholarships: President’s Scholarship, Provost’s Scholarship, National Achievement Finalist Scholarship, National Hispanic Finalist Scholarship, and National Merit Semi-Finalist Scholarship.

Students must:

  1. have applied and been admitted to ASU as a high-school senior
  2. have been offered a resident institutional scholarship (as listed above) from ASU
  3. be currently enrolled full time in their first or second semester at UA or NAU
  4. be admitted to ASU

    and

  5. meet the ASU scholarship criteria (3.25 cumulative GPA and 12 credit hours per semester).
