USI 201–07: Administrative Holds on Student Enrollment

Purpose

To identify procedures for placing an administrative hold on a student’s academic record at the request of the University Registrar’s Office; Student Life at the Tempe, West, Polytechnic, or Downtown Phoenix campus; or the dean’s office of the academic unit of the student’s major

Upon request by the appropriate office, the University Registrar’s Office or Registration Services at the West, Polytechnic, or Downtown Phoenix campus and Student Life at the Tempe campus may place an administrative hold on the student’s academic record, which will suspend registration privileges.

The student’s file will remain on administrative hold until the original request is rescinded by the originating office.

University Registrar’s Office;
Registration Services at the West, Polytechnic,
or Downtown Phoenix campus;
Student Life at the Polytechnic,
Tempe, West, or
Downtown Phoenix campus; or dean’s office
  1. Present a written request to:
    1. withdraw a student from current course work

      and/or

    2. place an administrative hold on a student’s academic records.
If the student is not currently enrolled or a withdrawal has not been requested:
  1. Skip to step 6.
If the student is currently enrolled:
Records Information Section
or Registration Services at the West, Polytechnic,
or Downtown Phoenix campus
  1. Drop or withdraw, if requested by the appropriate office, the student from the appropriate courses.
  2. Notify Business Services, so that they may determine if the student’s account should be adjusted.
Tuition Fee Payment
  1. Adjust the student’s account, if necessary.
Recording/Readmissions Section;
Records Information Section; Student Life at the Tempe campus;
or Registration Services at the West, Polytechnic,
or Downtown Phoenix campus
  1. Post an administrative hold to the student’s record in OASIS.
If the original request is rescinded by the originating office:
  1. Remove the administrative registration hold from the student’s record in OASIS.
