The property and facilities of the Memorial Union (MU) are intended for the educational, cultural, and social benefit of the university community. All other uses inconsistent with this purpose are prohibited.
Illegal drugs, firearms, and gambling in any form are prohibited in the MU.
Roller blades, roller skates, skateboards, bicycles, and the use of those items within the MU are prohibited.
Use of candles and incense is prohibited, except for ceremonial purposes and only upon receipt of a permit from ASU Environmental Health & Safety.
Smoking is not permitted in the MU. Smoking is prohibited (with the exception of events that have designated smoking areas):

An individual who makes a complaint regarding a violation of this policy will not be subject to disciplinary action as a result of making a complaint.
Employees and students who violate this policy may face disciplinary action.
Members of the university community, if they are comfortable doing so, are encouraged to advise individuals who are smoking in prohibited areas of this policy.
Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) in consultation with Human Resources is available to provide guidance and clarification of this policy and to assist in the resolution of disputes. Anonymous complaints may be made so long as the violator is known and the specific university location that is the subject of the complaint are identified.
The ASU Police Department does not handle smoking complaints.
Alcohol may be served or consumed only at designated special events as authorized by Arizona Board of Regents’ policy 5-108(A)(4), “Sale and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages on Campus” and SSM 106–03, “Alcohol and Other Drugs on Campus.”
When in the MU, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult who will assume responsibility for their conduct and welfare.
Service animals and dogs used in law enforcement are the only animals permitted in the building.
Equipment and furnishings belonging to the MU may not be removed from or loaned out of the building.
Art, paintings, pictures, and other displays may not be moved or removed under any circumstances.
