To provide procedural guidelines for an appeal of the non-renewal of specific institutional scholarships

A student shall be notified in writing by Student Financial Assistance Office (SFAO)/Scholarships if the institutional scholarship of a student will not be renewed for the following academic year. This notification is sent after grades are posted at the end of the spring semester. The student may request review of scholarship eligibility and appeal the decision to SFAO/Scholarships.
Student Financial Assistance Office/Scholarships will only review appeals based on extenuating circumstances for possible reinstatement of the following institutional scholarships: President’s Scholarship, Provost’s Scholarship, University Scholarship, Regent’s High Honors Endorsement (AIMS), National Merit Finalist Scholarship, National Merit Semi-Finalist Scholarship, National Achievement Scholarship, National Achievement Semi-Finalist Scholarship, National Hispanic Scholarship, Academic Decathlon Scholarship, Sun Devil Scholarship, Flinn Finalist Scholarship (does not apply to the Flinn Designees awarded by the Flinn Foundation), All Arizona Academic Team, Leadership Scholarship, and Dean’s Scholarship.

A student must submit a completed Scholarship Appeal form along with appropriate supporting documentation to Student Financial Assistance Office (SFAO)/Scholarships. Detailed scholarship appeal procedure requirements are outlined on the Scholarship Appeal form, which is available on the Online Financial Aid Forms Web site.
