SSM 204–04: Application for Graduation for Master’s and Doctoral Candidates

Purpose

To notify the Graduation Section that a master’s or doctoral candidate intends to complete all course work and requirements for graduation at the end of a specific semester

Policy

A master’s or doctoral candidate must apply for graduation by the deadline dates specified in the ASU Graduate Catalog or pay a late fee.

A master’s or doctoral candidate must pay the appropriate fees at the time of application.

Procedure

The student:

1. pays the graduation fee and obtains a receipt at Cashiering Services
2. takes the graduation fee receipt to the Graduation Section and provides a definite graduation date

   and

3. completes and signs the Application for Graduation form

The Graduation Section:

1. verifies that the student is meeting all graduation requirements outlined in the Program of Study

   and

2. files a copy of the application for processing in the semester in which graduation is anticipated.
