and/or Overload Authorizations |

Purpose

To allow a student to register for or add a class that is full,
restricted, or in time conflict with another class on the
student’s class schedule and/or to allow a student to exceed
the maximum course load permitted

Overrides
The department offering a class may issue an override during the
registration and drop/add periods allowing a student to register
for or add a class that is full, restricted, or in time conflict
with another class on the student’s schedule.
Overloads
The department, college, or advising office of a student’s
major may issue an overload authorization allowing a student to
register for or add classes exceeding the maximum course load
allowed.

If requesting an override: |
| Student |
- Request approval for an override authorization from the
department offering the class. Go to step 3.
|
|
If requesting an overload: |
|
- Request an overload authorization from the department, college,
or advising office of the student’s
major.
|

If the request is approved: |
| Department approving override or overload |
- Enter approval information in OASIS, or complete and stamp an override or overload
authorization form.

|
If given an override or overload authorization form: |
| Student |
- Take to any registrar site (the Records Information counter at
the Tempe campus or Registration Services at the West, Polytechnic,
or Downtown Phoenix campus):
- the override or overload authorization form
- an approved Enrollment Request form
and
- a photo ID.

| University Registrar’s Office staff |
- Process the transaction. Print the study list.
|
| Student |
- Remain at the registrar site to receive the study list. Review the study list for accuracy.
|
|
If the approval is entered in OASIS, complete either steps 7 and
8, or 9 and 10. |
|
- Take to any registrar site (the Records Information counter at
the Tempe campus or Registration Services at the West, Polytechnic,
or Downtown Phoenix campus):
- an Enrollment Request form
and
- a photo ID.

- Register or add a course online at My ASU
- Pay the fees by the fee payment
