Regular classified, service professional, and administrative employees

The university provides each eligible employee with $15,000 group term life insurance coverage, and long-term disability insurance coverage through a group policy. There is no cost to the employee for either coverage unless the employee is a member of the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS). All ASRS members pay one half of the cost for the long-term disability insurance. Employees with any class of F1, J1 visas are not eligible for the state group term life insurance coverage and long-term disability.
In addition, the university provides at no cost to the employee unemployment insurance and workers’ compensation coverage.
The university offers a choice of medical and dental insurances. Employees and the university both contribute, on a variable basis, to the cost of the premium. All covered employees and their covered dependents can continue medical and/or dental coverage for periods up to 18 months or 36 months provided they meet the criteria specified by statute for a qualifying event. Qualifying events are termination, death of the employee, reduction in hours worked, divorce or legal separation, Medicare eligibility, or loss of dependent status.
The university offers one or more of the following insurances with the employee paying the full premium for any insurances elected:
