Use

Usage of IIA funds must further the ASU research efforts of the PI. Department or academic expenses are not allowed on IIA accounts.

Amount

IIA awards are funded in one of two ways:

  1. Sponsored awards that were initially setup prior to 07/01/08: equal five percent of the budgeted (expected) F&A costs. IIA is manually funded by OVPREA shortly after awards are received.
  2. Sponsored awards that were initially setup on or after 07/01/08: equal five percent of the actual F&A cost recovered. IIA is automatically funded at each month-end close.

Notification

OVPREA will prepare a memorandum to the PI with specific instructions on how to access the funds at the time of IIA account setup.

Limitations

For sponsored awards initially setup prior to 07/01/08 only: An IIA award is not made if the amount to be awarded is less than $100. In cases where an IIA award is split between co-investigators and results in less than $100 for any co-investigator, the lead investigator will receive the full IIA.

For sponsored awards that were initially setup on or after 07/01/08: The automated monthly IIA award amount is not restricted.
