The libraries of Arizona State University have unique requirements that call for special procedures regarding order forms, receipts of merchandise, and payments to suppliers.
Therefore, the director of Purchasing and Business Services delegates the authority and responsibility for the purchase of books and periodicals for library use to the university librarian and the director of the John J. Ross-William C. Blakely Law Library.
All textbooks for classroom use that are purchased with university funds will be purchased through the Sun Devil Bookstores.
Single copies of books purchased for reference and not used in the classroom may be directly purchased by a department via one of the university’s small order programs, especially the Purchasing Card or the Departmental Limited Value Purchase Order (PDLVPO).
Periodicals and subscriptions for classroom, reference, or other uses may be purchased using any university purchasing procedure. The preferred procedure is one of the university’s small order programs, such as the Purchasing Card.
