PTS 102: Temporary Parking Permits

Purpose

To provide temporary parking permits for short-term parking needs

Policy

Permit Holders

Faculty, staff, and students who possess a valid ASU parking permit and whose vehicle becomes inoperable may obtain a free temporary parking permit for a loaner vehicle for up to two work weeks. The temporary parking permit authorizes parking in the same lot that the regular permit authorizes.

Non-permit Holders

A temporary parking permit may be purchased by non-permit holders for a day or a week in designated surface parking lots. Temporary one-day permits may be purchased using online services or at the Parking and Transit Services Office.

Note:

Temporary permits cannot be purchased online for rental vehicles.

Responsibility	Action
Individual	Provide ASU ID card (or driver’s license), license plate number, and vehicle make, model, and color when requesting a temporary parking permit from your campus Parking Office.
Permit Sales Office	Verify the requestor’s ownership of a valid ASU permit. Issue a temporary parking permit for the authorized lot, charging non-permit holders.
Individual	Display the temporary parking permit, as directed, in the vehicle.
