PCS 601–03: Departmental Responsibilities for Inventories

Purpose

To clarify responsibilities of departments in assisting Property Control with biennial physical inventories of capital equipment

Policy

ASU requires departmental assistance in completing university inventories of capital equipment. Departmental responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. assisting Property Control employees during building scans, as necessary
2. accounting for missing assets within 30 days of receiving notification

   and

3. acquiring the appropriate signatures for any assets that need to be retired.

Note:

Financial penalties may be leveraged if the amount of lost assets is excessive.
