Department personnel are permitted to cannibalize capital equipment provided that, if the equipment was originally purchased on a grant or contract, permission must be obtained by the grantor. University departments are responsible for preparing a Property Relocation Authorization (PRA) form to notify Property Control before cannibalizing equipment. Any remaining parts or items left over from the cannibalization must be forwarded to Surplus Property.
