When scheduling athletics competition, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics makes every effort to reduce class conflicts. However, student-athletes periodically may miss class for participation in university-sanctioned athletic events.
Student-athletes are required to provide faculty with a letter from the assistant athletics director for Student-Athlete Development, verifying departure and arrival times, prior to their absences from class. Student-athletes are responsible for working cooperatively with instructors to make up all required course work.
Students-athletes are not permitted to miss class for athletics practice unless it is in conjunction with competition.
