FIN 425–01: ASU Foreign Visitor Tax Guide
To outline federal income tax laws relating to nonresident alien visitors to ASU
ASU Foreign Visitor Tax Guide
ASU has prepared a publication “to inform foreign students, faculty, and staff of the rules under which Arizona State University (ASU) operates, based on the tax and immigration laws of the United States. This tax guide can be used as a reference tool for university personnel who interact with foreign students, faculty, and staff on a daily basis.
“This guide does not cover all tax situations; it covers only those most common to the majority of foreign students, faculty, and staff. It presents basic information about the tax status of various kinds of university payments to students, faculty, and staff. Explaining some of these tax regulations and qualifications is intended to provide information that will assist foreign visitors and university personnel in making the correct decisions concerning the tax implications of payments that ASU makes.” (Introduction, ASU Foreign Visitor Tax Guide)
The ASU Foreign Visitor Tax Guide may be viewed on the World Wide Web or individuals may obtain a copy by requesting it from Financial Services at 480/965–8479 or 480/965–0108.
