Departments using automated external defibrillators and newly constructed and renovated university-owned buildings

Any university-owned or -operated building that is newly constructed or that undergoes a renovation of at least $250,000 must be equipped with automated external defibrillator (AED) units.
Placement of AEDs shall follow the American Heart Association’s Public Access Defibrillation Program protocol. Units should be located where they can be easily accessed; the average person should be able to retrieve the unit and return to the victim within three minutes or less. Use of AEDs is limited to trained employees as prescribed in the Arizona State University Medical Supervision Policy.
