CPM 504–02: Building Renewal Projects
To ensure that state-appropriated building renewal funds are allocated to capital projects in a manner consistent with the intent of the state legislature and to meet the requirements of the university’s deferred maintenance program

All building renewal type projects
Building renewal funds appropriated by the state legislature are used for projects that meet the legislative building renewal definition. Such projects, referred to as “building renewal projects,” are identified by the Department of Facilities Management in conjunction with the Capital Programs Management Group and address the facility deficiencies identified in the University Facility Inspection Reports. Building renewal projects are specific to campus buildings. Pools of funding for various nonspecific projects are prohibited. Available building funds are encumbered and/or expended as soon as possible within the fiscal year that funds are allocated. Financial Services monitors building renewal expenditures to ensure compliance with the building renewal definition.
