Archaeology Summary of Required Actions:

The responsible party, or parties, perform the required action(s), or task(s), as follows:

  • At the initiation of the project, the CPMG project manager hires an archaeologist.
  • The ASU historic preservation coordinator initiates consultation with SHPO and Native American tribes (as necessary).
  • The archaeologist conducts a Literature/Records Review, a Field Survey, and produces a report.
  • The archaeologist prepares the Survey Plan, and the ASU historic preservation coordinator submits it to SHPO for review.
  • The archaeologist prepares the Survey Report, and the ASU historic preservation coordinator submits it to SHPO for review.
  • If necessary, the archaeologist prepares a Data Recovery Plan, and the ASU historic preservation coordinator submits it to SHPO for review.
  • The archaeologist prepares the Preliminary Data Recovery Report, and the ASU historic preservation coordinator submits it to SHPO for review.
  • The archaeologist prepares the Final Data Recovery Report, and the ASU historic preservation coordinator submits it to SHPO for review.
  • If Disposition is recommended or required, it is conducted by the archaeologist and the ASU historic preservation coordinator in coordination with the director of the Arizona State Museum.
