Purpose

To ensure that the user committee understands performance requirements and has sufficient input during programming, design, and construction, and that the Capital Programs Management Group ensures compliance with university design standards

Policy

The Capital Programs Management Group project manager determines which university departments will participate in the review and is responsible for coordinating all necessary project reviews.

The chair of the user committee reviews design documents and specifications at key junctures during the design process to ensure compliance with ASU standards, code requirements, maintainability, safety, and other desired characteristics. Design document review is structured by:

1. formally scheduling design document reviews
2. developing procedures to implement reviewers’ comments

   and

3. having reviewers formally endorse design documents.
