In order to comply with federal regulations and sponsor requirements, employees who are paid from or have a stated cost-share commitment to one or more sponsored projects must have 100 percent of their university effort certified via the university’s effort reporting system each effort reporting period.
If compensated effort or cost-share commitments have changed after the effort report has been certified for the period, e.g., cost-share commitments or payroll redistributions, then a new effort report for the period must be certified.
