Consultative Committee

The Consultative Committee advises the president on a variety of issues. Membership includes senators-at-large from the colleges and schools. (Two-year terms.)


Council of Deans

The Council of Deans advises the executive vice president and provost of the university on all matters relating to the operation of the academic affairs of the university. This council is composed of the executive vice president and provost of the university (chair); deans of the academic colleges and schools; deans of the Division of Graduate Studies, Craig and Barbara Barrett Honors College, University College, and University Libraries; the deputy vice president/university dean of Student Affairs; and the vice provosts. The president of the university and the president-elect of the Academic Senate serve as ex officio members.


Graduate Council

The council is advisory to the dean of the Division of Graduate Studies to develop and formulate policies, recommend graduate programs and administrative procedures, and set policies for graduate admissions. The council is appointed by and responsible to the dean of the Division of Graduate Studies and includes one elected academic senator. (Two-year terms.)


Tempe Campus Academic Administration Advisory Council

The council is advisory to the executive vice president and provost of the university on development of policy and procedural matters related to the academic areas. It enhances communication to and from the colleges and various support units regarding review of policies, programs, and issues. The council is appointed by and responsible to the executive vice president and provost of the university.


President’s Working Group

The President’s Working Group advises the president on all matters pertaining to the operation of the university.


University Council

This council meets with the president to review all agendas prior to regular Board of Regents’ meetings. In addition, the council meetings provide an opportunity for members to present multi-campus issues and to discuss appropriate topical issues. The council membership consists of the president (chair) and representatives of Tempe campus, West campus, and Polytechnic campus, including provosts, vice provosts, vice presidents, executive assistants to the president, presidents of academic senates, directors of departments reporting to or selected by the president, and others as appropriate.
