The Arizona Board of Regents consists of eleven members. Eight citizens are appointed by the governor of the state for terms of eight years, and one student member is appointed each year for a one-year term. The governor and state superintendent of public instruction are ex officio members. This board, acting under the constitution and laws of the State of Arizona, is the governing body of the university.
