How do you specify a unique course title for different sections of a course? Please tell me this is possible, otherwise there will be much confusion!
Send your request to courses@asu.edu. Each request will be reviewed before being added to OASIS. Once it is created at the Course Catalog level you can attach it to the class on the Basic Data tab under Maintain Schedule of Classes.
How do I change the hours for a specific omnibus subtopic?
As long as the requested hours are withiin the range of the generic omnibus course, you can send your request to rooms@asu.edu.
Why aren’t my prerequisites showing up in OASIS?
The former catalog prerequisites, corequisites, and pre- or corequisites are called Requirement Groups in OASIS. In the past, the catalog was more of a friendly “heads up” to students to suggest what background is needed to succeed in a course. As might be expected, several prerequisites simply could not be enforced in the former SIS (e.g., “a statistics course”). The former SIS course edits were transferred to OASIS; not what appeared in the former print catalogs. Options such as “or its equivalent” and “or instructor approval” will not be translated to requirement group edits. Note also that adding “instructor approval” as a prerequisite means every student must contact the instructor for approval before being allowed to register for a course.
An ACRES request must be submitted to add, change, or delete these enrollment requirements. If you feel there was an SIS to OASIS error translation, you can e-mail sr.core@asu.edu. If you would like to add, change, or delete enrollment requirements for specific sections, or put a cap on enrollment, you can e-mail uapp@asu.edu.
Who adds faculty to an individual class? Some faculty included are deceased, retired, etc. Can we remove them?
Contact the college Business Manager or the schedule builder in each department. They can request access to the instructor/advisor table by going to https://ep.oasis.asu.edu and requesting that role. Rooms can teach how to add instructors once the request has been granted. The instructor has to be in the HR database (hired through HR and assigned an ASU ID) before being added.
All of the instructors who taught since 1980 have been loaded. They did this because they are making People Soft the history record for all of the students since that time. I don’t think they will be deleting any of these faculty, but you could ask askoasis@asu.edu.
